Scripture reference: “making the word of God of no effect through your tradition which you have handed down. And many such things you do.” (Mark 7:13, NKJV)
In this bible verse we see that the Lord is saying that there are certain traditions we follow that make the Word of God ineffective. You may be a child of God, but if you don’t examine your traditions, they can hinder the power of God’s Word in your life. The Lord Himself said that His Word has been made of no effect because of traditions—and there are many such things we do without realizing the impact they have. For example, in some families, a grandchild might be called “husband” or “wife” by a grandparent as a pet name.
This may seem harmless, but the enemy can use such words to block marriages within that family lineage. You might find that God has purposed you to marry someone, but that confession makes the purpose of God of no effect in your life. There was something that was planted by tradition and it’s fighting the entire clan.
You may come from a family where these issues persist. You might be in a marriage, but constantly find yourself fighting with your partner. When you were just friends, everything was fine. You got along well and cared for each other. But once you got married, things began to change. You feel a heaviness in your relationship, something is wrong. The ancestors are saying “you’re married to your ancestors, your grandfather/ grandmother” so that spiritual disagreement will cause you to physically disagree.
When your spouse is away, you feel love for them and you miss them, but when they return, you feel uncomfortable, or even irritated. Those forces are arguing with your Angels, causing discomfort and hindering peace in your relationship.
You may be wondering why your family doesn’t succeed in marriage, the cause is not far from that. It could be that a tradition in your family is placing a limit on your life. Until that tradition is broken, you won’t be able to break free from it. Even though you are a true worshipper, you may still be influenced by that tradition.
The Lord has given you authority to overcome all spiritual obstacles. Jesus shed His precious blood so that you may walk in freedom and power.
“This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.” (Matthew 26:28, NKJV)
As you read the Bible, look into some things that may cause the word of God to be of no effect in your life. Unless that thing is handled you may stay in the same situation.
Prayer
“Blood of Jesus wash away every covenant, wash away every agreement that my ancestors made upon my life that has made the word of God of no effect to my life.”
Peace Be with You!
